Charity Supercar event sells out in 5 days
Tickets for this year’s Supercar Gourmet Event went on sale last Friday (12th March) and sold out in less than a week.
The l’ortolan restaurant in Shinfield and the Reading Matins Rotary Club will host the charity Supercar Gourmet Event on Monday 10th May which will give Berkshire car-lovers the chance to enjoy some of the most luxurious vehicles.
Guests at the charity event will have the chance to drive in vehicles from luxury car manufacturers including Jaguar, Lamborghini and Aston Martin, enjoy the company of other car lovers during a 5-course bespoke lunch specially designed for the occasion by the l’ortolan chefs, and will take part in a silent auction.
L’ortolan is also thrilled to announce that car manufacturer Tesla will be supporting the event this year by offering test-drives in their electric supercar. The Tesla Roadster, which never has to visit a petrol station, can do 0 to 60 in 3.9 seconds.
All profits from the day will be split between two local charities: the Alexander Devine Children’s Cancer Trust and The Duchess of Kent House Hospice.
“We were delighted to be able to help both the Children’s Cancer Trust and the Duchess of Kent Hospice this year,” explains restaurant owner Peter Newman.
“Last year’s event was really successful, but we wanted to make this year’s event even better, which is why, with the help of the Super car dealers, we have organised for our guests to be able to drive the cars themselves.
“It is wonderful that so many people wanted to support the 2010 event, and we hope that together we can raise a lot of money for these two amazing local charities.”
